Semen is a thick, cloudy, white fluid that contains sperm. Semen is usually released, or ejaculated, from the penis during a sexual climax (orgasm).

The amount of semen ejaculated varies from between a few drops to about 1 tsp (4.9 mL) and usually contains between 40 million and 600 million sperm.
