Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I look forward to working together with you to take care of your health. I completed my undergraduate studies at UCLA and then attended medical school in Virginia. I am board certified in both otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) and plastic surgery. As part of my medical education, I received extra training in microsurgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
I was born in Virginia, but along with my family moved to San Diego when I was five years old. I first became interested in medicine through high school biology classes and an ER visit involving stitches to my knee. I was attracted to surgery because it involved thinking about a problem clinically, three-dimensionally, and using my hands to help others.
About my practice
My focus and interest is in complex reconstruction, and my background in microsurgery allows me to offer all types of reconstruction for autologous breast reconstruction (using your own tissues), nerve, lymphedema, chronic wounds, and the after effects of cancer or trauma. I also am interested in wound healing research, tissue regeneration, and scar formation.
How I thrive
I thrive by helping others and I feel medicine is an honor and privilege. I truly believe that treating the entire person is critical. I also thrive by trying to constantly learning something new each day, spending time outdoors and at the beach, and traveling to learn about new foods and cultures.
